The HR Assistant is:

  • Performing general services
  • Assisting the HR Unit with its tasks as instructed
  • Assisting with recruitment filing in line with GIZ filing rules
  • Responsible for the recruitment database and monitoring system
  • Further developing instruments and assisting in introducing innovation and change
  • Assisting with filing documents in reference files or DMS in line with GIZ’s filing rules
  • Ensures that the necessary office supplies are available
  • Completes forms and tables in accordance with specific instructions from the HR unit


     The HR Assistant performs the following tasks


1.    Support for HR Unit

The HR Assistant:



  • Photocopies and scans documents as needed;
  • Organises and compiles information materials;
  • Labels files in accordance with GIZ filing rules


  • Updating the monitoring system regularly
  • Monitors and updates the recruitment database and the different recruitment platforms
  • Organizes the recruitment mailbox in accordance to the information given by the unit
  • Assists in organising the selection process (e.g. interviews)


  1. General tasks

The HR Assistant:

  • Delivers and collects documents for the HR Unit.


  1. Other duties/tasks

The HR Assistant:

  • Performs other duties/tasks at the request of the HR Manager/Senior HR Advisor.





Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required qualifications, competences and experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, Humanities, or any other relevant field for this position

Professional experience

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in Human Resources


Other knowledge, additional competences

  • good working knowledge of IT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Excellent knowledge of English, Kurdish and Arabic; languages, German language is an asset
  • willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
